We’ve Replaced Over 10,000 of Them

If you have a missing tooth, or are about to lose one to decay, you have several challenges to deal with. That gap can be embarrassing. Eating and speaking may not feel right. You may lose self-confidence. Perhaps worst of all, you can lose jawbone underneath the missing tooth if it’s not replaced quickly. As the bone recedes, you may eventually be looking at more missing teeth as a result. Dental implants provide the look, feel, and function of natural teeth—with unmatched durability. If you want your quality of life fully restored, you need a dental implant in Issaquah, WA.

Though many general dentists provide dental implants, it’s a treatment that’s best performed by the hands of a specialist. As an oral surgeon, Dr. Scott Clayhold is a dental implant expert. He completed six years of specialized surgical training beyond medical and dental school that included implants. His specialized residency also included complete, in-depth knowledge of the jaw and face as well as medical training considering the entire body. This qualifies him to undertake the most complex cases, including many dentists won’t touch. He also has the in-house technology to make your implant procedure precise and pain-free. It’s no wonder Issaquah area patients have relied on him to replace over 10,000 teeth since 2004!

Why You Should Trust Us With Your Dental Implant Placement!

Dental Implant Placement

Step 1: Getting to Know You

Dr. Clayhold can quickly determine if you’re a candidate for a dental implant during a free initial consultation. Rest assured, most of our patients are already candidates or can be after receiving a few preliminary treatments. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, you’re in good hands. As an oral surgeon with medical training, Dr. Clayhold considers more than just your oral health and can customize your treatment plan accordingly.

During your consultation, Dr. Clayhold gets to know you through a discussion of your smile goals and an examination. This includes high-definition 3D x-ray imaging of your mouth with our in-house cone beam CT equipment. These images enable Dr. Clayhold to plan your procedure with the highest level of precision, and with minimal radiation output compared to conventional x-ray machines. Equipped with all this information, our team can schedule placement of your dental implant in Issaquah, WA.

Step 2: Placing Your Dental Implant

When you return for your procedure, our priority is to make you comfortable. That starts with our relaxing lobby, where you can help yourself to our coffee bar. In our state-of-the-art treatment room, our focus becomes ensuring your procedure is as stress- and pain-free as possible. Dr. Clayhold is licensed to provide a variety of anesthesia options for your comfort. If you suffer from dental anxiety, you’ll be happy to know that IV sedation and oral sedation essentially allow you to sleep through dental implant placement. You won’t feel anything during or remember anything after your procedure.

Once you’re sedated Dr. Clayhold will perform any initial procedures to prepare you for implant placement. If you’re having a decayed tooth replaced, he’ll extract it. He may also need to perform bone grafting to rebuild your jawbone after recession. During placement, he’ll permanently anchor a durable titanium implant post in your jawbone. This replaces your natural tooth roots. He uses BioHorizons® and Astra Tech implants—both known for their superior quality and strength. He also uses growth factors from your own blood during the procedure to facilitate smooth healing. Whenever possible, we offer immediate-load dental implants which means you can receive your temporary crown in the same day and quickly resume all normal daily activities! You’ll also be sent home from our office with a treatment-related goody bag. Every one of our patients is a VIP!

Step 3: Restoring Your Confidence and Quality of Life

In the months following placement, your implant site will slowly heal. Ultimately, your dental implant will permanently fuse with your jaw—a process called osseointegration. This bond offers the restored function and long-term reliability that dental bridges and partial dentures can’t provide. Once you’ve fully healed, you’ll receive your customized dental crown that blends seamlessly creating a natural look. You’ll finally be able to enjoy a fully restored and functional smile!
